This Trouble Maker Campaign is designed by Hantang Communications Group in China. Condoms are labeled with the portraits of dictators suggesting that “increased condom use could prevent a possible disaster as the birth of Hitler, Hussein, Bush and Chen Shui-bian, etc”. The tagline says it all: “Such tragedy could have been easily avoided”.
In terms of creativity, this is a recycled idea from a Germany ad agency, Grey, in a campaign for safe sex.




The advertisement features historical characters, Hitler, Bin laden and Mao, whom seen as antisocial mass murderers. Chinese government is outrage over the Mao comparison. Although Mao is obviously a clear example of the group, the responsible ad agency has actually sent a letter of apology to the Chinese consulate. Sadly, it implies that Mao is still revered as the father of modern China.

New Book Alert! 村上春樹さんの「１Ｑ８４」

村上春樹新作長篇小說「1Q84」銷售已突破百萬本，日本「讀賣新聞」今天刊出新作推出後的首度專訪內容。他說，這本書的寫作原點是奧姆真理教的法庭審判。

報導說，本月上旬，村上在東京接受採訪時表示，他旁聽奧姆真理教事件的官司達10年以上，一直在想像真理教信徒被判死刑後的心境，這是1Q84這部作品的出發點。村上說，奧姆真理教事件值得讓大家去思考現代社會的「倫理」為何，應該從犯罪的受害人與加害人雙方觀點來重新省思現代社會的狀況。他還表示，自己所處的世代、1960年代後半以後的世代究竟是如何走過人生，他很想好好寫下這時代的精神史。

1Q84在5月底問市；至15日為止，第1卷已賣出62萬本，第2卷賣出54萬本，合計116萬本。出版商「新潮社」表示，購買的人士以30歲以下的人佔半數以上。村上受訪時強調，重要的不是銷售多少本，而是表達方式為何。他說，自己一貫想法是，作家的角色就是創造出足以對抗原理主義以及某種神話性的故事。現在是網路上意見充斥的時代，「故事」本身更加需要具備某種力量才行。新推出的第1、2卷所描述的內容大概是「1Q84」年的半年份的內容，有讀者期待他推出續集，但他表示，今後該怎麼做，還得慢慢思考。

「1Q84」一卷有24章，奇數章節是描述一位名叫「青豆」女子的故事，偶數章節描述的是一位名叫「天吾」、一心想成為小說家的補習班老師的故事。這兩人都經歷過不幸的童年，他們活著的1Q84（日語發音同1984）年，與現實生活的1984年的世界有些差異。

村上的「挪威的森林」等小說被翻成中文、英文、俄羅斯等超過40種語言；他表示，今後歐美與東亞的差距會縮小、文化上的交流會更密切，他堅信自己一定有一些想法可從日本對外發聲。

奧姆真理教事件是指1980年代後半至1990年代中期，該教教主麻原彰晃以救贖為名，殘害與該教團為敵者，同時發動濫殺無辜的恐怖行動。一連串事件共有28人死亡，6000人以上輕重傷。關於1995年日本東京地鐵沙林毒氣事件，村上曾撰寫書籍「地下鐵事件」、「約束的場所」。

Manic Street Preachers新專輯《Journal For Plague Lovers》美麗的唱片封面，是英國畫家Jenny Saville 的作品。她畫大面積的女性身軀為主，多是自畫像。提材有巨大的女性、變性人、變裝者；手術進行階斷的創傷病人、受病毒感染者、性別錯置者、以及身體殘骸等。畫家似是以一些極端的視覺效果來唤起觀看者的真實情緒。總覺她的作品有著强烈的吸引力，叫人思考他們的背後意識。MSP在94年的《The Holy Bible》專輯首次用上Jenny Saville 的畫“Strategy 1964”。

剛推出的專輯，封面的孩子半邊臉佈滿瘀血，畫作充份代表了《Journal for Plague Lovers》的音樂風格：黑暗中有着激情，時喧鬧時無奈。可惜唱片在某些發售地點需另包上白封套，原因是避免畫作“嚇驚小孩”。
其實，唱片封面包含著歌曲的主題意義，團員的創作精神、狀態，和音樂引領着的意境。音樂的衣服要是被扒下，幻想空間少了一點，音樂的色彩相對被剝減，至少我是這樣認為。

I just finished reading this book today. "Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs" (despite the book's title) is a collection of essays that draws connection between popular culture and collective social issues. Chuck Klosterman has some very thought-provoking ideas about a range of pop culture ideas and phenomena. I enjoyed his writing style and sense of humor. In some way Chuck's boasting for his solipsism works for me. Certain things this man has to say are true! (at least I feel connected) He touches on many aspects of American society. It's better to be vaguely familiar to American culture from the late '70s to the early '90s, otherwise you may find it hard to identify with the jokes.

Below are the random arguments that interest me:

What matters is that Coldplay manufactures fake love as frenetically as the Ford fucking Motor Company manufactures fake love as frenetically as the ford fucking Motor Company manufactures Mustangs, and that's all this woman heard. I'm currently reading "Sunny Side Down: A Collection of Tales of Mere Existence" by Lev Yilmaz which is definitely my favorite humor book of the week. I know Lev through his youtube videos, just love the clear presentation of his simple life observations. And his voice is so compelling to listen to. The one I really like is "I'm Not Going to Think about Her".

For people who couldn't stop obsessing.

日本研究指出唱歌可抗癌

日本川崎大學的一項研究發現，唱歌可增加人體免疫細胞的數量，有助對抗癌症。 根據川崎大學對廿六名六十至八十歲經常參加合唱團練習和出席音樂會的年長女士進行研究，發現該批接受研究的年長女性，血液內的免疫細胞數量平均達56％，較一般健康成年人高出百分之廿十到四十不等。
川崎大學的研究報導指出，這項研究亦發現在合唱團練習九十分鐘後，半數的合唱團成員血液內免疫細胞數量較未開始練習時高，其中一名成員體內免疫細胞數目更增加了14％。腫瘤科醫生和音樂治療師則指出，醫學研究早已發現心情開朗的人，免疫能力較佳，但沒有足夠的研究證據指出音樂可以治療癌症。
